BROCADE ACQUISITION NEWS : Riverbed® SteelApp product line + Connectem (IoT) invests in IP value add and acquires in Virtual Application Delivery Control and Internet of Things

Today, Brocade closed its acquisition of the Riverbed® SteelApp product line. SteelApp is a software-based Application Delivery Control (ADC) solution. The product has been ranked as one of the top 3 vADC solutions and Gartner describes the solution as a visionary. The vADC market is a key component of Brocade’s focus on the data center. With this acquisition, Brocade and our partners will be in an even better position to lead the disruptive opportunity in vADC…a market growing at 30% annually.

In addition, on Monday, March 2nd Brocade announced its plan to acquire Connectem, a pioneer in LTE virtual Evolved Packet Core (vEPC) technology for mobile networks. Connectem has a unique architecture that leverages modern data center tools to deliver higher scale and efficiency on x86 servers and provides Brocade and its partners with a highly relevant entry point into the future “Internet of Things” market. Connectem’s portfolio integrates seamlessly with our physical routing and switching solutions and complements our network visibility and analytics capabilities, as well as our extensive Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) capabilities.
