Infortrend introduces EonNAS 3000 Gen2 storage with EonRescue system recovery

A major addition is EonRescue, a simple but powerful tool that allows users to quickly and easily recover a crashed system with just a USB drive. The helpful feature joins a compact space-saving rackmount design, standard dual 80 PLUS power supplies to lower environmental impact and operating costs, plus greater scalability for 2U 12-bay models. All together, these culminate in superb ROI – even better than that offered by previous EonNAS 3000 solutions.

EonNAS 3000 Gen2 systems maintain the unified architecture of their predecessors, meaning they work on the file and block level and thus support NAS, SAN, and IP SAN environments on the same system. With EonNAS 3000 Gen2 and intuitive EonRescue we offer users a friendly but powerful recovery tool. Using any USB drive (with 8GB or more), an EonNAS 3000 Gen2 system can be quickly and safely restored in the event of a crash. With just a few clicks, EonRescue saves operating system and network settings, pool/disk images, memory configuration, core dump files, and more. It also automatically carries out real time system diagnostics and provides status reports, which can later be used to pinpoint the cause of a system crash. Recovery is achieved by simply booting the EonNAS 3000 Gen2 system from the USB drive, which restores the NAS to its previous state.

EonStor DS familyThe entry level-priced EonStor DS 1000 range of RAID systems for SMBs keeps expanding, with new offerings featuring the latest generation of the 64-bit Intel Atom C2000 SoC family. The added power results in higher IOPS capabilities that puts enterprise-class throughput within convenient reach of smaller businesses. High performance dual controller EonStor DS 1000 systems deliver as much as 380K IOPS. These are truly remarkable performance figures for the affordable price points of the EonStor DS 1000 series.

The added performance offers an even more capable platform for SSD deployment, allowing faster media to deliver its full benefits to users. Higher storage performance on EonStor DS 1000 joins an already impressive range of features. Systems support super capacitor or backup battery unit (BBU) emergency cache power to protect against data loss due to prolonged power outages. They are scalable to 324 drives or around 2PB in capacity, and enable hybrid host interfaces (16Gb/s FC and iSCSI, for example) to widen connectivity. High performance and reliability with flexible configuration empower SMBs

TAIPEI, Taiwan, July 15th 2014 – Infortrend® (Public TPE: 2495) today announced the launch of 12-bay/16-bay EonStor DS 1000R storage systems with dual redundant controllers for high availability. They join single controller EonStor DS 1000G models to provide SMBs with nearly doubled performance. They are highly reliable thanks to redundancy and multiple cache backup technologies, while diverse hardware configurations allow customization to particular needs and budgets.

EonStor DS 1012R/1016R systems utilize redundant controllers and power supplies. For emergency backup in the event of a prolonged power outage, customers can choose super capacitors or a hot-swappable BBU (battery backup unit). Both keep data caches powered over long periods for recovery even after major disruptions. Enterprise-class data services are included: snapshot, volume copy/mirror, and more. Products also support remote replication.

EonStor DS 1000R systems exceed the performance of previous-generation EonStor DS G6 systems, and are capable of up to 380K IOPS, 5,500MB/s read, and 1,900MB/s write. Users can further enhance them by installing SSD, for which the systems are performance optimized. Modular design enables customization so users get the system they need for their applications. Four 1Gb/s iSCSI ports are standard, with hybrid support: users can choose another interconnect from 10Gb/s iSCSI, 8Gb/s or 16Gb/s FC, or 6Gb/s SAS. Additional EonStor DS 1000 form factors will release later this year.
