Making the Move from Xsan to StorNext
Alex Grossmanby Alex Grossman, Media and Entertainment, Quantum

Xsan was a remarkable product. When first introduced it delivered high speed collaboration and unmatched ease of deployment and use. But with Apple exiting the professional server and storage market over three years ago, aging hardware and lack of professional support are leaving users at risk, and admins facing huge changes.

Luckily Quantum StorNext 5 is here to remove the risks and ease the transition making the move from Xsan virtually seamless while adding performance and additional capabilities. And with the addition of the new StorNext Connect, deploying and managing StorNext workgroups has never been easier.

Channel Director's Corner
Chris Bowring Channel Sales Director, Northern Europe

Chris BowringWith the launch of our new DXi6900 in July this quarter has been a busy one for us in terms of positive coverage of our DXi family of dedupe solutions.

To cite one example, Howard Solomon, Editor of Computing Canada, highlights the ability of the DXi6900 to compete with four separate EMC models, nothing "It isn't often that a vendor makes a product it says can take on four of a competitor's models, but that is what Quantum Corp is doing with its new DXi6900 deduplication appliance".

In addition, Gartner has just published their first Magic Quadrant report for purpose built deduplication appliances. Quantum's DXi‐series ranked as a "Challenger" based on Gartner's criteria, which is a great result and reflects a strong ability to execute, capable products, and the financial resources to sustain continued growth. Gartner calls out as particular strengths our unique capacity‐on‐demand approach to selling additional storage capacity, our integration with tape, and our powerful variable‐length deduplication algorithm.
